ility is accessibility testing for websites. Accessibility issues stop people from using a site: a button a screen reader can’t name, text too faint to read, or a form you can’t complete with a keyboard. ility helps you find those issues and track them until they’re fixed.

What ility does

  • Crawls your site. ility follows links from the URL you give it, or reads your sitemap.xml, to find the pages on your site.
  • Scans every page. ility checks each page against WCAG, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, and against accessibility best practices.
  • Groups the issues. The same problem on many pages shows up as one issue, with a severity and the pages it affects.
  • Scores each site. Each site gets a score based on how many WCAG rules fail, how severe they are, and how many elements fail them.
  • Tracks issues over time. Each scan updates the issue list, so you can see what’s new, what’s resolved, and how the score changes.
  • Exports evidence. You can export evidence of your testing for audits and compliance reviews.
Automated testing finds many accessibility issues, but not all of them. Some checks still need a person to judge whether the result works for real users.

Who ility is for

  • Web teams. Developers, designers, QA, and content writers who want to find and fix accessibility issues on the sites they build.
  • Compliance and product leads. People who need to know how accessible their sites are, how that changes over time, and how to show it.
